An introductory beekeeping class at NC State inspired alumna Leigh-Kathryn Bonner to pursue a career in finding sustainable urban environments for local bees. Jessica Yinka Thomas, director of the Business Sustainability Collaborative, sat down with the Bee Downton founder to discuss her entrepreneurial journey at NC State and her passion to stop the bee population decline.
“It’s been a long journey to become better at the financial, truly the business side, of Bee Downtown,” said Bonner. “I have learned to hire people that support your weaknesses with their strengths.”
