Madhya Pradesh: NIA arrests two more Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen terrorists from Bhopal | Bhopal News

BHOPAL: National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested two more Bangladeshi nationals from Bhopal who are said to be closely associated with the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) terrorists’ module busted by MPATS and central intelligence agencies a few months back. This case was transferred to the NIA following international ramification. There are around six more men on the radar and a hunt is on for them.
Those arrested have been identified as Salary alas Muffakir aka Samid Ali Miyan aka Talha s/o Tabaruk Hussain – resident of village Pachani, Bangladesh and Mohammad Sahadat Hussain aka Abidullah Matubbar, of Village Pokhira Bangladesh.
They were arrested in the Itkhedi area in Bhopal, in the case relating to the arrest of six active cadres of JMB, including three illegal Bangladeshi immigrants from Aishbagh, Bhopal.
These accused were found involved in propagating JMB ideology and motivating the youth to carry out jihad against India, says an official release.
The case was initially registered as FIR No. 13/2022 on March 14 at STF, Bhopal, MP and re-registered by NIA on April 5. Seven persons were arrested in the case.
NIA accused Hamidullah alias Raju Gaji and Md. Sahadat Hussain alias Abidullah are highly radicalized individuals and involved in propagating Jihad by posting hateful and incriminating materials online in various groups on different social media platforms to radicalize other people. Sahadat had married an Indian woman from UP a few years ago.
They were close associates of earlier arrested accused persons in the instant case and were found using encrypted apps to communicate with their associates in India and Bangladesh. Further investigations in the case are in the progress
Investigations had revealed that these JMB members were using videos of mob lynchings, reported from different parts of the country, to provoke youths and convince them to join JMB sleeper cells.
“The plan was to develop sleeper cells across the country, not just in Bhopal,” said an officer. Their mobile phones are being cloned to extract data. Investigators say these JMB terrorists visited several parts of India in the last two years. A list of their contacts is being prepared. They were well versed with interception techniques used by investigating agencies and were very cautious in using their cellphones.
The four JMB terrorists – Fazhar Ali alias Mehmood, 32, Md Aqeel alias Ahmed, 24, Zahooruddin alias Ibrahim, 28, and Fazhar Zainul Abdeen alias Akram Al Hasan – were arrested by MPATS in the first phase. They came to India in 2021 during the Covid lockdown, say police. A large amount of jihadist literature, laptops and mobile phones were seized from them.
