On July 18, police had arrested one Faisal Muneer from Jammu for his alleged involvement in receiving multiple drone-dropped consignments of arms and ammunition from Pakistan. His involvement had come to the fore during the investigation of two incidents of drone dropping of arms last year. Huge payloads, including sticky bombs, UBGL rounds, M4 rifles and other explosive material were recovered in these cases.
Sources said that during the raid at Faisal’s residence, NIA seized two bags containing documents and other material for further scrutiny. Reports from Kathua and Samba also said that NIA teams raided some villages situated along the international border.
