Meghan Markle covers The Cut in black-and-white Tory Burch dress

Meghan Markle is making a statement.

The Duchess of Sussex, 41, covers The Cut’s September 2022 issue in a striking color-blocked dress by Tory Burch — one of a series of all-black-and-white looks she modeled for New York magazine’s fashion glossy.

Stylist Jessica Willis paired Markle’s sleeveless, full-skirted turtleneck frock with emerald-colored statement earrings from Lanvin for the cover shot, which the “Archetypes” podcast host showed off with her center-parted, slicked-back hair.

Inside the issue, Markle poses for photographer Campbell Addy in a slinky black halter dress by Bottega Veneta and a string of $36,480 Mikimoto pearls, and curls up on a rustic bench in a strapless tweed dress by Chanel teamed with Sophie Buhai “Everyday Pearl” earrings ($395-$475).

In another image, she’s all business, striking a confident stance in an asymmetric white blazer and matching trousers by Proenza Schouler along with pointy white heels by Manolo Blahnik and diamond-studded Mateo “Half Moon” hoops ($3,120).

The shoot took place at the Santa Barbara ranch of the Sussexes’ friend Victoria Jackson — the founder of infomercial fave Victoria Jackson Cosmetics.

And Markle opened up about her new life in California and relationship with the royal family in a wide-ranging — and at times shocking — interview.

Along with her rocking multiple outfits, Prince Harry, 37, mentioned his wife juggling multiple identities during their transition to post-palace life.

“You were gone for, like, 10 hours yesterday,” he told Markle, adding that she came back from the shoot and said, “I’m not a model.”

“I was like, ‘No, you are, of course you can be a model,’” the duke continued. “And she’s like, ‘I’m a mom!’ And it’s like, ‘You can be both.’”

While she didn’t get into fashion during the lengthy interview, the duchess did share how she’d started to go through her things at Frogmore Cottage, the couple’s Windsor home, and flew back with a bargain favorite.

The cottage “has remained mostly untouched since they left,” but the couple brought some things home to Montecito after their Platinum Jubilee visit.

“You go back and you open drawers and you’re like, ‘Oh my gosh. This is what I was writing in my journal there? And here’s all my socks from this time?’” she said, adding that the linen pants she wore during her chat with interviewer Allison P. Davis were “like $30 pants from Boden, and I brought them back.”

Although she’s more likely to be sporting Bottega than Boden for public appearances these days, it appears there’s another change in store for the duchess: a return to Instagram.
