New travel agency available Thursday (Sept. 1) for nonemployees and student organizations; preferred for employees to begin Sept. 20

Beginning Thursday (Sept. 1), any Purdue systemwide department and organization needing assistance in booking travel for nonemployees will need to go through AAA Corporate Travel. This includes prospective faculty and staff, visiting professors and consultants, and student organizations. The assistance includes group travel for nonemployees and student organizations, which is defined as 10 or more individuals on a single itinerary. Anthony Travel, the University’s current travel agency, will no longer support nonemployees and student organizations as of Thursday.
With this change, departments and organizations will need to use their Purdue University Purchasing Card (PCard) when using AAA Corporate Travel services for direct booking of reservations for nonemployees and student organizations. The PCard now allows those charges on the card.
Reservations required for nonemployee travel within 72 hours must be made by calling AAA Corporate Travel at 800-354-4514. Travel arrangements with longer lead times should be requested online through the AAA Corporate Travel Purdue NonEmployee Travel Reservation form. An AAA Corporate Travel agent will then reach out within three business days to confirm reservations.
While travel agency services transition from Anthony Travel to AAA Corporate Travel, Purdue Travel will pay the transaction fees associated with University department nonemployee travel through Sept 19. Beginning Sept. 20, departments will be responsible for transaction fees for all nonemployee travel. Student organizations will be responsible for all transaction fees assessed by AAA Corporate Travel, effective Thursday.
Purdue Travel will continue to cover the transaction fees for faculty, staff and students on the West Lafayette, Fort Wayne and Northwest campuses for travel booked through AAA Corporate Travel.
Those at Purdue Global, Purdue Polytechnic High School and nonemployees and student organizations on all Purdue campuses will be able to receive Purdue’s negotiated rates and discounts for travel arrangements booked through AAA Corporate Travel.
Anthony Travel will no longer provide services for Purdue employees and others traveling on University business as of Sept. 20. AAA Corporate Travel will become Purdue’s full-service travel agency for these individuals, including faculty, staff and students. At that time, AAA Corporate Travel will become the University’s preferred travel booking method, in addition to Concur. As an exception, Purdue Athletics will continue to partner with Anthony Travel for their travel needs.
Additional information about the travel agency transition and process for employees will be shared in the coming weeks.
