Travel Alert: Left Lanes Of Cross County Pkwy To Close Over Two Weeks

[ad_1]

MOUNT VERNON, NY — Commuters in Westchester County are going to want to allow some extra travel time coming and going over the next two weeks.

The New York State Department of Transportation says the left lane in both directions of the Cross County Parkway is scheduled to close at Exit 9 (Hutchinson River Parkway) in Mount Vernon, for four days this week, and then four days next week.

The lanes will be closed from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, from Monday, September 19 until Thursday, September 30, for guard rail installation.

All work is weather dependent and subject to change, the Department of Transportation said.

The NYSDOT is reminding drivers to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of your driver’s license.
