A FRENCH fashion expert has revealed the most common styling mistakes which only make fashion lovers look bigger.
Marie-Anne Lecoeur, a personal style consultant, has been in the fashion industry for years – and having worked with clients for a while, she has definitely knows a thing or two.

The whizz often shares insights on YouTube, where she has close to a whopping 150,000 subscribers following her fashion advice.
Now, the guru took the internet by storm after revealing the clothing errors which make people appear larger than they actually are.
Wide clothes
The first big error is buying garments that are cut wide and square.
”After some weight gain, many women lose confidence with their body – so they choose to hide it in the clothes that are, unfortunately, loose, shapeless, wide, boxy.
”This has the opposite of what they want to achieve because it makes their body look shapeless,” the guru explained.
Instead, opt for your items that actually fit you and flatter your curves.
Too small
”The second style mistake that makes you look larger than you are is to wear clothes that are too tight or too small for you.
”Buy close in your size,” the expert emphasised.
”This will be much more flattering than tighter clothes that show off every lump and bump.”
Thick fabrics
They might keep you warm and cosy but thick fabrics are not best to be avoided as well, according to Marie-Anne.
With winter coats, such as faux fur or sheepskin, you can add up to three inches to your body, the expert claimed.

Rather than throwing on a thick coat, opt for many layers – this will keep the temperature toasty without adding extra layers.
Double-breasted
Just like large winter outerwear, double-breasted blazers do nothing but add one or two inches of extra fabric to your torso – which in turns makes you look bigger.
Not only will it make the belly look wider, but the extra later will squash the bust.
The answer is quite simple – opt for single-breasted garments.

Going crazy with horizontal lines
”I’m not just talking about bottoms and tops – because believe it or not, there are hidden horizontal lines on your outfit that you may not be thinking about.
”The most obvious, of course, is hemlines. But there are also horizontals created by colour-blocking, for instance.
”Belts in contrasting colours or highly visible pockets with flaps – all these add horizontal elements.
”Think vertical – have as few hemlines as possible. Wear one colour outfit, […] try varying the shades of one colour.
”Wear vertical stripes, wear belts in the colour as your outfit – or no belts at all.”
