Airlines Cutting Flight Schedules – Peter Greenberg Travel Detective

[ad_1]

Airlines in the U.S. and around the world are continuing to cut their flight schedules in the wake of this chaotic summer of travel.

American slashed 31,000 flights from its November schedule. And British Airways just cut 10,000 flights from its schedule.

But it’s not just flights being cut. Entire routes are being eliminated as well at some airlines.

United Airlines has severely reduced or cut service to 25 U.S. cities, and many of those cuts go into effect right after Labor Day. So what does this mean for travelers?

While it may help to stabilize airline schedules and result in fewer delays and cancellations, it also means fewer choices for travelers, and in some cities, no airline choices at all.

So please be sure and check and then double check flight schedules to confirm your flights are still operating after September 6th, and in some cases, you might have to prepare to drive longer distances to reach an alternate airport.
