A hair-raising video of a rhinoceros sprinting on a street in an urban area has left people shocked. The clip, shared on Twitter by IFS officer Susanta Nanda, has sparked chatter on the micro-blogging site as well.
The video starts with a shot of the rhino running at full speed along the road. Though the road is seen to be empty, one e-riksha driver can be seen scrambling out of his vehicle to safety as the sprinting animal approaches. However, it is unclear where the video was shot.
“When the human settlement strays into a rhino habitat. Don’t confuse it with Rhino straying into a town,” Nanda wrote in the caption.

With over 70k views, the clip has gone viral on Twitter. Netizens were concerned about the safety of the rhino and enquired about the aftermath of the incident. Many agreed with Nanda and opined that the permission to build towns in place of forests should be banned.
“This is a scene from Jumanji,” wrote a netizen. “Oh my god this is indeed scary!” commented another.
Why does the government allow any settlements near the forests or animal habitats? Can’t they be removed, if they really want to?
