IMPHAL: Mobile data services have been suspended for five days across the state after a vehicle was reportedly set ablaze by 3 to 4 youths at Phougakchao Ikhang on Saturday evening.
Police reports said the incident occurred at Phougakchao Ikhai Awang Leikai along Tiddim Road NH-02 on Saturday afternoon wherein an Eco-Van was reportedly found set ablaze by three to four youths.

Officials said Section 144 of the CrPC has also been imposed in Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts of the state for next two months.
As per an order issued by special secretary (home) H Gyan Prakash, some anti-social elements are using social media extensively to transmit images, hate speech and hate video messages, “inciting the passions of the public”.
“The social media has also become a handy tool for rumour mongers and being used to incite general public which might have serious repercussions for the law and order situation in the State,” read the order issued on Saturday, which will be in force for next five days from the time the suspension order becomes operational.

The All Tribal Students’ Union Manipur called an indefinite economic blockade in the state from Friday morning. They have been demanding that the Manipur (Hill Areas) Autonomous Council Bill 2021 be tabled in the state assembly without further delay.
Manipur government however introduced the Manipur (Hill Areas) Sixth and Seventh Amendment Bills early this week, which the student body said unacceptable.
Valley-based organizations were upset at the blockade and some have come into confrontation with ATSUM, accusing that they (Valley people) are being targeted with the blockade.
