Mahua Moitra and her high-end handbags have garnered adequate news space over the past few days with the saffron camp choosing the topic to corner the Trinamool Congress MP, a vocal critic of the Narendra Modi government.
She has now replied to a news portal that shared a clip of hers leaving a luxury car asking if Moitra has “changed her fashion sense” after the controversy. The TMC MP said this too is a Louis Vuitton – the Pochette. She further said the car in which she was seen coming to Parliament belonged to an MP from Andhra Pradesh with whom she often carpooled.
“My dears- this is also Louis Vuitton – the Pochette. Do look it up- will save you time trying to figure it out. The car’s a G-Wagon with an AP number plate belonging to Andhra MP who we often car pool with. Saved you some detective work here too! Cheers!,” she wrote on Twitter.

Last week, a video from a Lok Sabha session went viral with the BJP claiming that Moitra was seen hiding her Louis Vuitton bag as soon as the debate on price rise began. Soon after, the Twitterati took over and debated if Moitra, being a former investment banker before joining politics, could afford the bag.
Later, the TMC MP posted a collage of photos of how she has been carrying the Louis Vitton bag since 2019.
