Tennessee Tech has named Danielle Penner as the program’s new head coach.
Penner spent the last five seasons on staff at Coastal Carolina, holding the title of Associate Head Coach for the Chanticleers and working with the team’s pitching staff.
Prior to her tenure at CCU, Penner spent twelve years as the head coach at Division II Barry, compiling a 403-209 overall record during her decade-plus with the program. She led that program to the NCAA tournament six times.
Her resume also includes a three-year stint as an assistant coach at Barry before ascending to the head coaching role; the program made two NCAA tournament appearances and won two conference titles during her time as an assistant coach.
A 1998 alumnus of the school now known as PennWest California, Penner was a three-time All-American, a two-time national champion, and was inducted into her alma mater’s Hall of Fame in 2004.
