Over the summer, Virginia Tech hosted multiple one-day camp events to allow prospects an opportunity to work out for the coaching staff while also learning more about Virginia Tech and receiving college coaching.
Calvert Hall (MD) 2023 defensive lineman Zier Daniel camped at Virginia Tech at the end of July and was impressed with his time in Blacksburg learning from Brent Pry and his staff.
“I worked mainly with the defensive line coaches,” Daniel said. “Coach Price took time during reps to find ways for me to improve. I took his advice and was better the second and third time around. He has great communication skills and has a knack for getting his instructions across. Coach Rush was very helpful and supporting as well.
“Working with Coach Price was a blast,” Daniel continued. “He has a knack in getting his instructions across very easily.”
What feedback did Daniel receive from the Hokies?
“His feedback was very supportive. He likes my twitchiness. He wants me to get bigger and work on my hands more.”
During his time on campus, Daniel also spoke with Head Coach Brent Pry.
“He greeted me and everyone else that came into the registration area. He shows a lot of humility and being very down to earth.”
Overall, Daniel enjoyed his time in Blacksburg despite not landing a scholarship offer while on campus.
“I loved it. I was there before for the spring game and definitely wanted to return. They have top notch facilities and a good business school, which I want to major in.”
