TULSA, Okla. — Passenger travel is once again back to pre-pandemic levels at Tulsa International Airport.
Airport officials released passenger numbers for the month of July, which show numbers are slightly better than what they were in July 2019.
Andrew Pierini with the Tulsa airport said other airports are seeing an uptick in travel but in our region, TIA is the only one that can say they have fully rebounded from the pandemic.
“There was so much pent up demand that people are ready to travel again,” Pierini said. “Tulsa’s come back stronger than most of the country.”
Many of those flying are leisure travelers but for the first time since the pandemic, more business travelers are returning to the skies too.
