Host agency Cruise Planners on Thursday announced that, after a “lengthy and careful research process,” it will join the Signature Travel Network effective Sept. 29. 2022.

Cruise Planners, which was founded in 1994 and is the largest home-based travel agent franchise network in the U.S. with 2,500 members, had been affiliated with American Express’s Travel Representative program for 18 years prior. That relationship came to an end in May after American Express confirmed the end of its franchise program.

At the time, American Express said that the company was grateful for the collaboration throughout the years, but, because of a shift in consumer behavior, it had decided to move in a different direction.

In an announcement, Cruise Planners said it would be able to leverage Signature’s technology, marketing, and training program to “augment” its offerings for its advisors.

“This is welcome news and we feel strongly that this is the right direction for our company,” said Michelle Fee, CEO, and co-founder of Cruise Planners.

“Signature’s programs are impressive and we felt the essence of the pillars we hold ourselves to are reflected in their company as well. There are many complementary programs that Signature offers that will elevate the Cruise Planners brand and give advisors an extra edge to propel their business.”
