MySweetCharity Opportunity: KidneyTexas Inc. Fashion Show And Luncheon

According to KidneyTexas Inc. Fashion Show and Luncheon Co-Chair Regina Bruce,

“On Wings of Hope and Transformation…. that is the theme of the KidneyTexas Inc. 2022 The Runway Report Luncheon and Fashion Show being held on Tuesday, October 25.

“Kidney disease impacts roughly 20 million Americans today.  In Texas, there are more than 30,000 people on dialysis and 4,000 waiting on a transplant list.  This is why Dr. Carla Russo and I, as this year’s luncheon chairs, are so passionate about this cause. We want to offer hope and help transform the lives of those impacted by this terrible disease.

“Don’t give up hope that treatments can improve. Don’t give up hope that a cure can be found.  Don’t give up hope that you or your loved one can overcome this disease. Dr. Carla and I certainly aren’t because we believe that through research and enhanced treatment and care, lives can be improved, and lives can be saved. We believe in this so strongly that we are using our personal platform as co-founders of Lone Star Monarchs, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to helping support causes we believe in,  that we are willing to commit Lone Star Monarchs to serve as the Butterfly of Hope Presenting Sponsor in honor of our great friend, Jeanne  Lewiswho personally knows the challenges and hardships that kidney disease can have on a person’s life.

“Together, with Jeanne’s wonderful husband, George Lewisthey are serving as this year’s honorary chairs.  Dr. Carla and I hope that this elevated level of giving will encourage and inspire many others to reach deep into their pockets and join us in the fight and help make a difference in the lives of those people, young and old, suffering from kidney disease.

“In addition to Jeanne and George, this year’s honorees will include Dr. Goran Klintmalmwho is receiving the Everson Walls Legacy Award. Sandy Secor is being honored with the Sue Goodnight Service Award, and Therese Rourk is being presented with the Community Award.

“The Runway Report will also include a fabulous fashion show produced by Jan Strimple Productions, featuring fashions from Tootsies, Betty Reiter, Nardos Design and others.

“To date, KidneyTexas, Inc. has funded over $4.3 million in grants since 1999.  Together with your support, we can provide much needed resources to our 2022 beneficiaries:  Baylor Scott and White Dallas Foundation, Camp Reynal, Children’s Medical Center Foundation, Southwest Transplant Alliance and Texas Health Resources.
