When packing for a trip or vacation, a few items are non-negotiable for your toiletry bag. One of them is a travel-size fragrance. Contrary to popular belief, the best designer options are actually affordable!

Some of my favorite long-lasting fragrances from brands like Tom Ford, KAYALI, Jo Malone London and Maison Margiela come in travel sizes and retail for as low as $23. Based on personal experience, these will last for years, so if you don’t want to commit to full-size fragrance, there’s no need to shell out hundreds of dollars.

Below, I’ve rounded up six travel-size fragrances I’ve been rotating for the past two years — and none of them have run out yet. This is because each pick is potent and long-lasting, and since they aren’t highly diluted, all you need is one or two sprays.

These travel-size fragrances are also perfect for layering with each other or other favorites in your arsenal.

1. KAYALI Lovefest Burning Cherry Travel Spray, $23

This recently released fragrance is the product of KAYALI and Huda Beauty’s first-ever collaboration. As outlined in our list of the best long-lasting fragrances, KAYALI Lovefest Burning Cherry is sweet, spicy and perfect for layering.

I brought this on a recent weekend trip and layered it with one of my favorite fresh scents (Maison Margiela REPLICA Bubble Bath). It made for the perfect clean and rich evening combo that’s not overpowering. It’s also an ideal unisex combination.

2. Maison Margiela REPLICA Travel Spray Set, $68

Maison Margiela’s “REPLICA” fragrance series has some of the freshest and most unique scents I’ve ever smelled. And they last! This three-piece travel spray set includes Beach Walk, When the Rain Stops and Bubble Bath, all named after a specific moment or space.

All three are light in different ways and layer well with more dominant scents. While I enjoy layering these, I prefer wearing Beach Walk and When the Rain Stops on their own during the day since they smell so clean!

Beach Walk is a modern floral scent with notes of lemon, coconut milk and cedarwood. When the Rain Stops has a unique blend of aquatic accord, rose petal, bergamot oil and patchouli and Bubble Bath, the freshest of the three, smells like its name suggests, with notes of jasmine, lavender and rose super essence.

3. Jo Malone London English Pear & Freesia Cologne, $80

Though a bit pricier, Jo Malone London’s fragrances are long-lasting and don’t need more than one or two sprays to get things going.

English Pear & Freesia Cologne is, by far, one of its top sellers. It’s fitting for all seasons and is the perfect year-round daytime fragrance.

This fresh scent mimics the aroma of ripe pears wrapped in a bouquet of bright white freesias. Notes of amber and patchouli mellow those fruity tones, so think of this as the perfect mix of fresh, crisp, cool and woody.

I love layering this with Tom Ford Velvet Orchid to take it from day to night with just one spritz.

4. Tom Ford Soleil Blanc Travel Spray, $70

Speaking of Tom Ford, this luxury brand’s travel-size fragrances will give you your money’s worth. I’ve used their travel-size fragrances for two years, and none are even close to being empty.

Tom Ford Soleil Blanc Travel Spray is the ideal fragrance for those looking for something warm and spicy. In my opinion, it’s the perfect standalone fall and winter scent. Like just about all of Tom Ford’s fragrances, it’s unisex and layers perfectly with others.

The brand describes it as “an addictive solar, floral amber and coco-de-mer-infused” fragrance. This basically means it strikes the perfect balance between being warmly comforting and sweet and seductive. A little goes a long way with this one.

5. Tom Ford Black Orchid Travel Spray, $50

I’ve touched on the genius formula that is Tom Ford Black Orchid before, but this one is such a stunner and so powerful that the travel-size fragrance is all you need to last you a couple of years.

Have you ever encountered a scent that just smells like wealth? Well, this fits the bill! This fragrance is the epitome of luxury with robust, warm, masculine key notes like black truffle, patchouli and black orchid.

Since it’s a pretty popular fragrance, I like to layer it with the Jo Malone London Myrrh & Tonka Cologne Intense or the KAYALI Lovefest Burning Cherry to personalize it.

6. Tom Ford Velvet Orchid Travel Spray, $50

This last Tom Ford travel-size fragrance is one of the most long-lasting options on this list. After applying just two light sprays (that’s all you need — trust me), the scent lingers on my clothes for at least a month!

Also, I love that Tom Ford’s travel-size fragrances are cheaper than many expect. Like Tom Ford Black Orchid, the travel-size version of Velvet Orchid retails for just $50! This pick leans to the sweeter end of the spectrum with notes of honey, vanilla, and velvet orchid accord.

I rarely layer this with any other fragrance — it’s that memorable on its own.
