Suhana Khan’s Bollywood Debut in The Archies Sparks Controversy: Orry Addresses Criticism
Suhana Khan, the daughter of Shah Rukh Khan, marked her entry into Bollywood with Zoya Akhtar’s film, The Archies, this year. Despite receiving praise from many celebrities, a faction of the audience held a contrasting view on the Netflix production. During an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session on Reddit, Orhan Awatramani, known as Orry and a friend of Suhana, was asked whether she was aware of the public’s reactions.
The user specifically questioned Orry about Suhana’s knowledge of the criticism surrounding her performance in The Archies and whether she lived in a ‘bubble.’ Orry responded, “I cannot speak on Suhana’s behalf, but no one in Bollywood is dumb or in a ‘bubble.’ Trust me, they’re all very, very smart people highly in touch with reality. You cannot be so famous and successful if you are not.”
In The Archies, Suhana portrayed the character of Veronica, alongside Agastya Nanda as Archies Andrews and Khushi Kapoor as Betty Cooper. The film faced criticism for allegedly promoting nepotism, with negative reviews particularly targeting Suhana’s acting. Social media users shared videos mocking the perceived ‘bad acting’ of Suhana, Agastya, and Khushi in the film.
Shah Rukh Khan, father of Suhana Khan, Aryan Khan, and AbRam, was also discussed by Orry, who described the Khan siblings as the ‘best-mannered kids ever.’ Orry revealed that Aryan is currently ‘MIA (missing in action)’ due to his involvement in his directorial debut show, emphasizing his private lifestyle.
Orry, who attended Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday party earlier in the year, shared a humorous anecdote about the event. While wishing he could spill gossip, he jokingly admitted to being too intoxicated to recall the details, including Tania Shroff’s debut at the party as a single individual, drawing attention from interested suitors.

Manoj Bajpayee Opens Up About The Archies: Neither He Nor Daughter Ava Enjoyed It
Manoj Bajpayee recently shared his candid thoughts on Zoya Akhtar’s film, The Archies, disclosing that he and his daughter Ava didn’t find it appealing. In an interview with Zoom, the actor revealed that he watched the movie at the insistence of his daughter but expressed his dislike for it after the initial 50 minutes. Bajpayee recounted, “My daughter was watching The Archies, and I told her, ‘I am not liking it.’ She was like, ‘Okay,’ and by then I had watched it for 50 minutes.”
Noting that Archies wasn’t a part of his formative years, which were influenced by shows like Motu Patlu and Ram Balram, Bajpayee shared that even his daughter, Ava, did not enjoy the film. He mentioned suggesting to her during the viewing that the characters should speak in Hindi, leading to Ava scolding him for disrupting her and pointing out that he wasn’t dedicating enough time to family. Bajpayee added, “She said, ‘You are not giving family time, papa.’ Every time I start scolding her, she scolds me in return.”
