In a landslide incident at Kashan village of Gohar subdivision, eight members of a family are feared to be buried, while five people went missing after a flash flood at Bagi nullah.
Three people were killed when a landslide hit Banet village in Chamba district.
In the Thunag area of the district, flooding has caused extensive damage.
In the wake of heavy rainfall warning, Kullu and Mandi deputy commissioners have ordered the closure of all schools (government and private), including the anganwadi centers.
Sources said, in the landslide, the house of panchayat pradhan Khem Singh got damaged. It is said that eight family members, including Khem Singh, are buried inside the house and the local people are trying to rescue the trapped ones by breaking the roof of the grounded house.
After receiving the information, the officials of the Mandi district administration rushed toward the spot.
The flash flood caused by a cloudburst in the Baghi nullah on the Mandi-Kataula-Parashar road has wreaked havoc in the district.
An entire family of Sandhoa village has gone missing after the flood. People engaged in relief and rescue operations have found the body of a girl child while another five people are missing.
Dozens of families have left their homes and spent the night in safe places after the cloudburst. The bridge built on the nullah was also damaged.
Heavy rains have caused havoc in Himachal Pradesh since Friday night.
In Kangra district, the chakki rail bridge along Pathankot-Joginder track was washed away. Dharampur area of Mandi is submerged under flood water.
Landslide at Pandoh in Mandi district has also blocked the Chandigarh-Manali national highway-21.
