Roya St. Clair to Join Texas Tech Coaching Staff

Texas Tech is expected to hire Roya St. Clair as an assistant coach, sources confirmed to Extra Inning Softball on Friday.

St. Clair spent the last three seasons on staff at Washington University in St. Louis, helping shepherd the Bears’ program to an NCAA tournament berth and 50 wins during her tenure. She was part of the WashU staff that was named conference Coaching Staff of the Year in 2022.

Prior to her tenure at WashU, St. Clair spent time on the coaching staffs at Miami Ohio, Rutgers, Illinois-Chicago, and Memphis. Highlights of her stints as an assistant coach included conference regular-season titles while at Miami Ohio in 2019 and Illinois-Chicago in 2016.

A Michigan alumnus, St. Clair also played professionally in the United States and Italy following the conclusion of her collegiate career.

The hiring of St. Clair will round out the inaugural coaching staff for first-year head coach Craig Sniderwho previously hired Paige Cassady as an assistant coach and Morgan Klaevemann as a volunteer assistant earlier in the summer.
