The Traveler Wins Two Canadian Travel Awards

National Parks Traveler has been honored for its Canadian coverage by the Canada chapter of SATW, an American-based travel industry organization.
The 6th annual SATW Canadian Chapter Awards were announced yesterday during the chapter’s annual general meeting, celebrating writing and photography published in 2021.
The Traveler’s Canada editor Jennifer Bain won second place for Best Canadian Travel Story for “Exploring Canada’s Most Accessible Arctic National Park,” published March 17, 2021. She also won first place for Best People Photo for a picture in the same story about Ivvavik National Park of Inuvialuit cultural host Renie Arey with an ulu.
There were 111 stories and 25 photos entered in three writing and two photography categories.
Founded in 1955, SATW (formerly known as the Society of American Travel Writers) has more than 1,000 members. It’s a professional organization made up of journalists, photographers, editors, broadcast/video/film producers, bloggers, website owners, public relations experts and hospitality industry representatives from the United States, Canada and beyond.
