Dr Padmakar CMO, Universal Communications Marked His Presence At 59th Edition Of Femina Miss India

The paparazzi recently got a chance to interview the Chairman and Managing Director of
Mumbai-based Universal Communications Ltd, Dr Padmakar K Nandekar, at the start-
studded beauty and fashion event-Femina Miss India 2023. As a prominent figure of
advertising and television industry, Dr Padmakar is closely associated with Miss Femina
beauty event from past 32 years.
One of India's most prestigious beauty pageants, the Femina Miss India grand finale, was
recently concluded. The scintillating event witnessed seasoned actors, including Kartik
Aryan, Ananya Panday, Bhumi Pednaker, and many other eminent personalities.
Amidst the Bollywood A-listers actors, leading entrepreneur Dr Padmakar also graced the
occasion. Dr Padmakar, the pioneer in advertising and marketing communications, is widely
recognised as the man who bought us the famous TV serial Jungle Book on Doordarshan,
the national broadcaster. He is the same man who revolutionised the television
entertainment industry by starting TV Channels like DD Metro, Zee Cinema, and Regional
Channels. Dr Padmakar K Nandekar is currently the CMD of Universal Communications Ltd,
an Advertising Agency dealing with Television Channels' rights, sponsorship of events and
films, and sales promotion of blockbuster movies.
Dr Padmakar was seen congratulating the winners of Femina Miss India 2023. He spoke to
Nandini Gupta, who was crowned Femina Miss India World 2023. He also shared the stage
with the first and second runner-ups of the pageant, Shreya Poonja from Delhi and
Thounaojam Strela Luwang from Manipur. He was also snapped with other bigwigs of the
entertainment industry.
Speaking to the media, Dr Padmakar said, "Thrilled to be a part of such prestigious event.
For me each and every participant is a winner. To be selected among millions is in itself a
prized moment."
When asked about him attending the event, he replied, "I would like to say that being seen at
a beauty event can create a positive image of the business I am heading as an advertising
and media professional. For me it is a valuable investment of time and resources. It provides
opportunities for networking, learning, and enhancing the public image of my organisation."
The agency Universal Communications Ltd was established in 1995 by the highly
experienced Dr Padmakar to produce, distribute, promote, and finance quality TV
programmes, serials, video films, and other software. The company is currently regarded as
the best among its peers and also offers television and radio sponsorship services to
producers' channels, clients, and other stakeholders.
Throughout his impressive career, Dr Padmakar Nandekar has held various key positions in
the Indian television industry. He began his career with Ministry of Information &
Broadcasting, Government of India as a Distribution Officer/Zonal Manager at the National
Centre of Films for Children and Young People, before taking on the role of Manager
(Marketing) at the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). In this capacity, he was
responsible for overseeing the sponsorship of Doordarshan/NFDC films.
Dr Nandekar's contributions to the industry also include his work as a Regional Marketing
Manager at Zee Cinema, where he played a significant role in the channel's growth and
success.
In addition to being an excellent marketing head, Dr Padmakar Nandekar is a many-sided
personality. Apart from being an expert in spiritual and healing techniques, he is a
philanthropist and stays associated with relevant forums and NGOs, notably Rotary Club
International. He and his parents, wife and children are Paul Harris Fellows associated with
Rotary International. Dr Nandekar is also a Major Donors and Bequest Society member. Dr
Padmakar Nandekar also served as the Secretary General of the Cuffe Parade Resident
Association. His philanthropic services and industrial contributions are well recognised and
acknowledged by many including Government of Maharashtra.
