Two girls among 24 who scored JEE 100 percentile

NEW DELHI: Twenty-four candidates, including two women, scored 100 percentile in the Joint Entrance Examination – Main (JEE-Main) 2022, the results for which were announced on Monday by National Testing Agency (NTA).

There are five toppers each from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, followed by four from Rajasthan, two from UP, and one each from Haryana, Maharashtra, Assam, Bihar, Punjab, Kerala, Karnataka and Jharkhand. There were no 100 percentile scorers from SC/ST/PwD categories. The results of five candidates have been withheld for using unfair means.

24, including 2 women, get 100 percentile in JEE(M).

The top scorers from Rajasthan in JEE – Main 2022 are Krishna Sharma, Mayank Motwani and Parth Bhardwaj. The two women candidates who scored 100 percentile are Palli Jalajakshi from Andhra Pradesh and Sneha Pareek from Assam.

The percentiles or NTA scores are normalised across multi-session papers and are based on the relative performance of all those who appeared for the examination in one session. The ranks of the candidates are released taking into consideration the best of the two NTA scores in accordance with the policy already in place. Paper 1 is for admission to BTech/BE programmes in IITs, NITs and centrally-funded technical institutions (CFTIs).

This year, 10.2 lakh candidates had registered for the test, of which just over 9 lakh appeared. The test was conducted in two sessions – June and July. A total of 7.6 lakh and 5.4 lakh appeared for the June and July sessions, respectively. This includes over 4 lakh who appeared for both the sessions. According to NTA officials, the overall attendance was 88.2%.

2.62 lakh candidates from JEE (Main) qualify for JEE (Advanced)

Based on the results of JEE-Mains Paper 1 and Paper 2, the top 2.6 lakh candidates will be eligible to appear for the JEE-Advanced exam, which is a one-stop exam to get admission into the 23 premier Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

Online registration for JEE-Advanced is underway till August 11, 2022 and the exam will be conducted on August 28. The results will be announced on September 11.

The computer-based exam was conducted at 622 centres in 440 cities, including 17 cities outside India.

Postponed second phase of UGC-NET to be conducted between Sept 20 and 30


The postponed second phase of the University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) December 2021 and June 2022 (merged cycles) for 64 subjects will be conducted between September 20 and 30. The rescheduled exams will include Telugu and Marathi postponed due to governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana having their own examinations on July 9, 2022 and 15 subjects in which the examination could not be conducted at seven centres on July 9,2022 Shift-1 due totechnical issues.
