Fashion Bandit Steals $50K Clothing In West Village Spree, NYPD Says

WEST VILLAGE, NY — A fashion bandit has quite the new wardrobe after half-dozen high-end clothing store robberies in the West Village and surrounding areas, police said Wednesday morning.
The robber broke into seven boutique clothing stores between July 3 to 23 and stole about $50,000 worth of luxury items, police said.
The most lucrative heist was in the West Village on July 17, when the robber — who disables the front door then flees with a large garbage bag of clothes — stole $26,500 worth of merch from Christian Louboutin, police said.

Scotch & Soda
The fashion bandit stole $7,400 worth of clothing from the store at at 317 Bleecker St. in the West Village on July 3 about 5:45 a.m., police said.
Mermaid Shoes
Two days later, the thief hit Meermin Shoes at 123 Mercer St. and grabbed $3,400 worth of clothing about 6:20 a.m., police said.
Rag & Bone
He struck next at 104 Christopher St. in the West Village on July 14 about 8:05 a.m., when the thief took $7,900 worth of Rag & Bone clothing, police said.
Bonobos
The same day and about 50 minutes later, the thief hit 35 Crosby St. and took $5,900 worth of clothing, police said.
Loro Piana
The man got inside this West Village store at 3 Ninth Ave. on July 17 about 1 a.m. but did not take anything, police said.
Christian Louboutin
The fashion bandit got in the front door and took $26,500 in clothing from shop on Horatio and Greenwich streets about 6 a.m., police said.
A.P.C.
Finally, on July 23 about 4:10 a.m., the man broke into 267 W. 4th St. in the West Village, and took $11,400 worth of clothing, police said.
Police describe the suspect as 35-years-old, five foot, seven inches, and around 180 pounds.
