NEW DELHI: On the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence, Subhas Chandra Bose’s daughter Anita Bose Pfaff has said that Netaji’s remains, kept at the Renkoji Temple in Tokyo, should be brought back “home”.
“Nothing in his life was more important to Netaji than his country’s independence. Since he didn’t live to experience the joy of freedom, it’s time that at least his remains can return to Indian soil,” Pfaff, an academic who lives in Germanysaid. She said she feels obliged to ensure that her father’s dearest wish, to return to his country in freedom, is fulfilled and that appropriate ceremonies to honour him will be performed.
She also said this will help, for many who love and admire him, to accept that he died in an aeroplane accident on August 18, 1945.
