Texas Tech picked fourth in Preseason Big 12 Coaches Poll

IRVING, Texas – The Texas Tech soccer team was picked to finish fourth in the Preseason Big 12 Coaches Poll, the league office announced Tuesday.

Texas Tech is coming off an 11-6-3 season, where the squad finished 4-4-1 in Big 12 play to earn the fifth seed in the conference tournament.

The Red Raiders lost their leading scorer in Kirsten Davis but return assists leader and Preseason All-Big 12 team selection Macy Blackburn and saves leader Madison White. Ashleigh Williams will also return to the pitch for Tech after being named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team last season. Williams was the team’s second leading scorer with eight goals.

Tech is set to kick start the 2022 campaign on Thursday against Troy. Kickoff from the John Walker Soccer Complex is set for 7 p.m.
