San Antonio (September 9, 2022) – San Antonio International Airport’s largest carrier has extended its services through one of its peak seasons; Spring. Southwest Airlines (SWA) announced it will operate nonstop service to 20 destinations during their March 9th through April 10th schedule. Travelers will have more options to fly to several top tourist destinations. Below are several routes that will see increases in service:

  • Cancun
  • Denver
  • Orlando
  • Chicago
  • Phoenix
  • St. Louis
  • Tampa

SWA also announced the resumption of Saturday flights to Fort Lauderdale. Cancun service will increase to operate on both Saturday and Sunday during this peak season.



“We’re thrilled Southwest continues to increase and restore flights to and from its original hometown. San Antonio and the surrounding region have grown considerably, especially during the pandemic, and these increases provide more opportunities to see our beautiful city in addition to other top destinations,” said Jesus H. Saenz, Director of Airports, San Antonio Airport System.



San Antonio is one of several cities with frequency increases to several top destinations.
