Avril Lavigne unveils fashion collection with ‘goth twist’

Avril Lavigne has created a brand-new fashion collection featuring a “twist of goth”.

The Complicated hitmaker is known for her signature punk rock-inspired looks and often mixes plaid items with leather pieces.

Now, Avril has teamed up with the designers at Killstar to launch a line of clothing and accessories – with many items featuring skull motifs.

“The pieces are sexy, edgy, with a twist of goth. I love the contrast of the skulls on sexy pieces and lingerie,” she told Rolling Stone. “I’ve always loved skeleton prints and barbed wires. I have so many skull-designed things in my own home, so of course, I decided to do some pieces with that and skeleton prints.”

The size-inclusive range also includes mini dresses, crop tops, and sweatshirts.

Items in the Avril Lavigne by Killstar will officially go on sale on 22 August.

And the singer hopes fans will be inspired to mix and match the designs with their existing wardrobe.

“I love wearing baggie hoodies and skate shoes, but then I also love brands like Vivienne Westwood and Versace,” the 37-year-old continued. “My style has always been whatever comes naturally to me in that moment.”

Avril returned to her punk roots with her seventh studio album, Love Sux, which was released in February.

Previously, the Canadian star launched a clothing line called Abbey Dawn in the late 2000s.
