Duluth tech startup ranked among fastest growing companies in the nation

It’s an exciting time for Duluth’s Ad Advance. The tech startup company has been ranked on the INC 5,000 list, putting them in the top 10% of the top 5,000 growing companies across the country.
We talked with one of the co-founders Tuesday, who says he started as a seller on amazon in 2014. Then a few years later, was able to launch his own business.
“In 2017, my co-founder Matt and I were both from the Twin Ports, founded at advance, and our business has really grown from there,” shared Joe Shelrud.
There are four offices around Duluth, but Ad Advantage is expanding to a fifth location soon, hoping to bring on even more customers and employees.
“One thing we do when we’ve been growing the team is we really take a people and culture approach first,” shared Shelrud. “The skills are really important, but we know that we can train for skills. And so one thing that’s been great hiring locally is we’re able to find so many awesome people to help build out our team and our culture, which we really feel like has set ourselves apart overall.”
The new space will be on First Street in Duluth, opening next month. The current space is located at 222 W. Superior St, Suite 100.
