  • Major tech companies like Meta are bracing for the recession with hiring freezes and layoffs.
  • Some big names like Reddit are still actively hiring for hundreds of roles.
  • Here’s who’s hiring — and some tips on landing a job.

Competition for the top tech jobs — tough at the best of times — is set to intensify with the threat of recession.

The major tech firms are bracing for a downturn by tightening control over their hiring process.

In May, Meta announced a hiring freeze, and in July employees said they anticipated job cuts as the company cracked down on low performers. Meanwhile, Google has also quietly extended its hiring freeze, sources told Insider. Elsewhere, the startup sector is experiencing mass layoffs.

Roblox, Reddit, and Canva all recently told Insider that they continue to hire through 2022.

Here are the tech companies that are still seeking talent and some tips on landing a role.
