Nicole, known on TikTok as ‘urgirlienicole’, regularly shares her top fashion tips and tricks, as well as commenting on celebrity fashion and how to elevate an outfit.

The fashionista has shared a variety of videos on the fashion items that instantly make you look tacky and the looks to avoid quickly if you want to look elegant.

And in one of her recent videos, Nicole shared the five fashion items that all women should immediately steer clear from.

She said: “Five reasons why your clothes look cheap.

“If you are frustrated with the way your clothes look, here are five reasons why your clothes look cheap.”

Gathered seams

If you are someone that likes to wear baggy clothes to hide the bits of your figure you don’t like, according to Nicole, this makes you look cheap.

She said: “These really aren’t going to do anything for your body type.

“Yes they’re good at hiding areas, but if you don’t want to look cheap and you want to look expensive, you want to go for something more tailored and clean.”

Embellishments

If you like wearing clothes with lots of beads, glitter and diamantes, Nicola recommends you give your style a switch-up.

She advised: “Try to stay away from embellishments.

“If you want to stand out, then go for a simple shirt and then make the jewellery stand out for you. Perfect example for looking more expensive.”

Dark cotton or jersey tops

For those who always wear black, prepare to be attacked.

The fashionista explained: “After you wash [black clothes] once, they just kind of look cheap.

“Always go for lighter neutrals so whites, greys, blue”

Lace

Lace is a go-to look for many wedding guests, but this fashion expert warns people to avoid it where possible.

She continued: “Try to stay away because it can look really cheap.

“If done right, lace can look amazing – like mesh, it’s very simple, you can make a statement, it’s cute, it’s perfect.”

Dated paisley prints

Finally, if you’re a fan of paisley prints, it might be time to give your wardrobe a re-fresh and opt for some more neutral, modern prints instead.

Nicole concluded: “These prints are complicated so go with a simple print, like the classic polka dot.”
