RANCHI: The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga‘ campaign proved tragic for a family in Ranchi as three members — two sisters and a brother — were electrocuted while trying to put up a flag on their terrace on Sunday.
The incident occurred at 7.30pm when the city was experiencing a drizzle and high-speed wind. Locals said they were electrocuted as the flag post touched the high-tension overhead wirerunning close to the terrace of the Arsande rice mill bound house of Vijay Jha under the Kanke police station area of Ranchi district.
The deceased were identified as Arti Jha (26), Puja Jha (25) and Vineet Jha (23), the officer-in-charge of Kanke police station Brij Kishore said. While Vineet and Puja are children of Vijay Jha, Arti is the daughter of Vijay’s younger brother Shiv Kumar Jha.
