IRVING, Texas – Texas Tech defender Macy Blackburn has been named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team, the league office announced Monday.

The honor comes a year after Blackburn was selected to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team, Midwest All-Region Second Team and the TopDrawerSoccer.com All-Freshman Second Team. She was also invited to the U.S. U20 training camp.

Last season, the defender started all 19 games she played in and logged just over 1,500 minutes, playing the full 90 minutes or more 11 times.

The Keller, Texas native led the Red Raiders with nine assists, including a season-high two assists against both Abilene Christian and Oklahoma. She tallied 11 points, good for third-most on the squad, and scored her first collegiate goal against ACU.

Her 0.47 assists per game ranked fourth in the conference while her nine assists ranked sixth.

Blackburn and the rest of the Red Raiders kick start the 2022 campaign on Thursday against Troy. Kickoff from the John Walker Soccer Complex is set for 7 p.m.
