Maharashtra on high alert after suspicious boat with weapons found near Raigad district

Security
was
tightened
in
and
around
Maharashtra’s
Raigad
on
Thursday
after
an
apparently
abandoned
boat
was
found
with
weapons
and
explosives.

According
to
reports,
security
forces
captured
a
boat
load
of
rifles
being
smuggled
into
Raigad
district,
a
coastal
blockade
was
issued
over
the
entire
district,
and
a
terror
threat
alert
was
also
sounded.
The
administration
reached
the
spot
and
brought
the
boat
to
the
shore
with
the
help
of
locals.

The
areas
has
been
sealed
and
police
are
investigating,
said
reports
by
news
agencies
PTI
and
ANI.

Reports
indicate
the
boat
was
found
around
200
km
from
Mumbai.
