On Thursday evening, director and producer Sawan Kumar Tak breathed his last at a hospital in Mumbai. The news of his demise was confirmed to ETimes by his nephew, Navin Kumar Tak. After the news broke out, superstar Salman Khan took to social media to mourn his loss.
Salman took to Instagram and shared a throwback picture with the late director. He also penned a heartfelt note as he remembered him with love.
Salman wrote, “May u rest in peace my dear Sawan ji. Have always loved n respected u.” Have a look:
Reportedly, Sawan Kumar Tak suffered a heart failure and lung-related ailments too. He was in a critical condition for the past few days and was undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of a Mumbai hospital.
He marked his directorial debut with ‘Gomti Ke Kinare’ featuring Meena Kumari and Mumtaz. He also introduced talented actors like Sanjeev Kumar and Mehmood Junior aka Naeem Sayyed to the industry. He had produced ‘Naunihal’ on a shoestring budget, but the film had a Presidential mention at the National Awards. ‘Naunihal’ was also Sanjeev Kumar’s debut Bollywood film.
On the work front, Salman is currently busy shooting for ‘Bhaijaan’ with Pooja Hegde. He also has ‘Tiger 3’ with Katrina Kaif and ‘Kick 2’ with Jacqueline Fernandez.
