Meerut Husband Seeks Police Help After Wife Sells House and Elopes
A dramatic case has emerged from Meerut‘s Brahmpuri area, where a man has accused his wife of selling their family home at a significant loss and fleeing with her alleged lover. The husband, Kapil, has appealed to police for action, alleging a fraudulent property sale and elopement.
Allegations of Fraud and Elopement
According to Kapil’s complaint, his wife—whom he married in 2009—reportedly sold their jointly-owned house in December. The property, valued at approximately ₹60 lakh, was allegedly sold for only ₹35 lakh. Furthermore, Kapil claims she took jewellery worth around ₹6 lakh before disappearing with a man who had previously visited their home to provide physiotherapy to his ailing mother.
Kapil stated that after his mother’s death in 2023, the man’s visits increased, and his wife grew closer to him. He alleges this friendship developed into an illicit affair, culminating in the property sale and elopement on December 19.
Police Complaint and Investigation
Kapil reported the incident to the Brahmpuri Police Station but alleges no significant action was taken. He then escalated the matter to the office of Meerut SSP Dr. Vipin Tada.
In response, SSP Tada has directed the Circle Officer of Brahmpuri to conduct a thorough investigation. The probe will examine the circumstances of the house sale, trace the missing woman and her companion, and determine if any fraudulent or illegal practices were involved. No arrests have been made yet, and police inquiries are ongoing.
