UP LPG, Petrol, Diesel Supply Update: No Shortage, Government Issues Advisory
Amid rising concerns over fuel availability, a major update has emerged regarding LPG cylinders, petrol, and diesel supply in Uttar Pradesh. The state government and oil industry officials have reassured the public that there is no shortage of fuel, urging people not to panic or engage in unnecessary stockpiling.
In recent days, rumours about a possible shortage led to long queues at petrol pumps and a surge in LPG bookings across several districts. According to state-level oil industry representatives, Uttar Pradesh currently has adequate reserves of petrol and diesel, enough to last approximately 20 to 22 days. On average, the state records around 10–11 lakh LPG bookings daily, while approximately 7 lakh cylinders are delivered each day. The gap between bookings and deliveries has widened due to this trend.
The surge in demand is partly linked to the ongoing global situation, particularly tensions in West Asia, which have impacted fuel supply chains worldwide. While India continues to receive fuel shipments, temporary disruptions and rising crude oil prices have created anxiety among consumers. However, domestic reserves remain robust.
Despite these challenges, authorities have reiterated that petrol, diesel, and LPG supplies are normal and that there is no need for panic. Oil companies are maintaining steady distribution, and all petrol pumps in the state are functioning with sufficient stock. Officials are in constant touch with central agencies to monitor the situation.
The government has also warned against spreading misinformation, stating that false rumours can lead to unnecessary panic and disrupt the supply system.
