Greater Noida Ganga Pipeline Leak Raises Dengue Concerns in Eta 1
A continuing leak in the Ganga water supply pipeline near Eta 1 in Greater Noida has left roadside green belts waterlogged for the past three to four days, raising concerns among local residents.
Residents fear that stagnant water could become a breeding ground for mosquitoes, particularly during the current dengue season. They have also complained about foul smells and the wastage of drinking water.
The leakage has also affected water supply in nearby areas. Residents of Delta 1, 2 and 3 have reported low water pressure, while large quantities of water continue to collect around Eta 1.
The Federation of RWAs in Greater Noida has urged the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) to repair the damaged pipeline and address the water-pressure problems. Residents have also raised concerns about damaged roads in the area.
GNIDA officials have said that the issues will be addressed soon. However, residents are seeking a clear timeline for repairs as the stagnant water continues to remain around the green belts.
