NEW DELHI, November 3 — Delhi Traffic Police issued a fresh advisory on Tuesday explaining vehicle restrictions as checks continued at the capital’s borders under the winter pollution-control measures.
The entry restriction introduced on November 1 targets petrol and diesel vehicles registered outside Delhi that do not meet BS-VI emission standards. Electric and CNG vehicles are exempt from that specific curb, subject to other applicable requirements.
Delhi-registered vehicles remain subject to separate age, emission and pollution-control rules. Registration in the capital should not be treated as a blanket exemption.
Police urged motorists to keep their vehicles compliant, maintain valid pollution certificates where required, avoid unnecessary idling and check current traffic advisories. Drivers should verify their vehicle category before travelling rather than assume every restriction applies identically.
