Delhi-NCR Weather Today: IMD Issues Heavy Rain Alert

Delhi-NCR weather today will remain wet as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts heavy rain across the region.

Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad may receive moderate to heavy showers. Thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds of 40–50 km/h are also likely.

The active southwest monsoon will bring rain at different times during the day. Heavy showers may cause waterlogging on low-lying roads. Traffic could slow down during the morning and evening rush hours. Drivers should stay alert because visibility may drop during intense rainfall.

The IMD advises people to avoid open areas during thunderstorms. Stay away from trees, electric poles and loose structures. If you must travel, drive slowly and leave extra time for your journey.

The rain will bring relief from the recent heat. However, humidity will stay high after the showers.
