Dharmendra Pradhan Resigns

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from his post on Saturday, July 25, in a major political development for the Modi government. His decision came after days of nationwide student protests over alleged irregularities in competitive entrance examinations, especially the NEET-UG exam.

Pradhan submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said he was stepping down to prevent the ongoing unrest from affecting students and the country further.

In a message shared after his resignation, he said he had taken responsibility for the situation from the beginning and wanted students to focus on their studies instead of prolonged protests.

The protests had spread across several cities in India, with thousands of students demanding accountability over alleged exam leaks and irregularities. Demonstrators also called for reforms in the country’s examination system and sought action against those responsible.

The resignation follows weeks of public pressure and comes after several fake resignation videos circulated online. Those earlier videos had been officially debunked before Pradhan’s actual resignation was announced on Saturday.
